Description:
For sale: a splendid, 11-piece collection of authentic prehistoric arrowheads and small spear points from the Neolithic. These masterpieces originate from the desert region of Morocco (North Africa).
Scientific & Archaeological background:
The arrowheads date from the New Stone Age and are estimated to be 5,000 to 9,000 years old. They come from a time when the Sahara was still a hunting ground full of wildlife. The pieces were meticulously worked by prehistoric hunters using pressure flaking on both sides.
The collection shows a beautiful variety of blade- and lanceolate-shaped types. The material consists of several kinds of colorful flint, chert, and jasper, which over millennia have developed a gorgeous, soft desert patina.
