Specimen: hematoid quartz sphere with pyrite from Brazil, 1614 g, 97 × 97 × 97 mm.
Description from the seller
A sphere derived from a naturally hematite-rich quartz of rare intensity, characterized by a complex, highly tactile structure in which quartz growth was accompanied by widespread iron-bearing inclusions and later hydrothermal phases. The result is a specimen of great visual depth, where translucent light zones coexist with darker, more compact areas, creating a decisive yet harmonious chromatic balance. The quartz presents in milky and grayish-pearlescent tones, traversed by a network of natural fractures and scarred veining that segment the volume into irregular clasts. Inside this structure, the finely dispersed hematite imparts the typical warm colors of hematite quartz, with transitions ranging from golden yellow to intense ochre, up to orange and brown-rust shades. Pyrite inclusions appear as irregular metallic-looking specks and aggregates concentrated along fracture planes and contact zones between the different quartz clasts. In some points they are compact and well defined, in others more fragmented, suggesting deposition occurring in multiple stages. Their presence further enriches the geological reading of the sample, bearing witness to circulation of iron- and sulfur-rich hydrothermal fluids. The ensemble yields a robust, dynamic, and genuinely geological appearance, in which every angle reveals new details and color variations.
