Description from the seller

Monumental sideboard in Neo-Renaissance style – Italy, late 19th / early 20th century – Built in solid walnut wood with ebony details

Lotto Description
Extraordinary and elegant three-door, three-drawer sideboard in Italian Neo-Renaissance style, dating from the late 19th century or the very early years of the 20th century.

This piece, with striking visual impact, features a solid solid wood body in warm walnut tones, beautifully contrasted by dark ebony elements that highlight its solemn architecture.

Artistic and construction details:

Architectural Front: The piece is rhythmically accented by four fluted pilasters with finely carved Corinthian capitals.

Sculptural Elements: In the upper band, between the drawers, stand out four imposing hand-carved lion heads, symbol of strength and classical nobility.

Doors and Drawers: The three doors feature central geometric medallions with large turned studs in relief against a dark contrasting background. The three upper drawers show a geometric relief-ebonised carving.

Monumental Base: The furniture rests on a richly chiselled and decorated base, which terminates at the front with two majestic lion-paw feet (clawed), typical of the eclectic Renaissance taste.

Interior: Divided into three capacious compartments, each with an inner wooden shelf for excellent space organization.

A piece of refined furniture with character, perfect for a formal living room in a classic style, or as a unique accent piece in a modern and eclectic design context.

Conditions
The piece presents generally good aesthetic and structural condition. There are light and physiological signs of wear related to age, which attest to the authenticity and history of the piece (small surface imperfections on the tabletop, usage scratches and slight warping of the wood, particularly in the joint gap of the rear panel/ tabletop, visible in detail photos). Solid construction and drawers/doors fully functional.
