Description from the seller
No reserve price
Magnificent and exotic necklace of natural high-quality Peruvian turquoise beads, knotted one by one by hand, with a ball-shaped striped yellow 18k gold clasp.
Peruvian turquoise is a rare form of the gemstone chrysocolla. It presents a greener hue and veining compared to ordinary turquoise. For centuries it has been the sacred stone of the South American Incas. It has traditionally been used in Peru, up to today, as an ornamental stone for the production of spiritual amulets.
For almost a thousand years, Native Americans have been mining turquoise and making their sacred jewelry with it. They believe their minds connect with the universe when wearing a turquoise amulet. There is an ancient belief that turquoise color is affected by the wearer’s physical and mental condition. It is said that the color fades when its owner is sick or sad, and it loses all color when a person dies. Conversely, if the owner is happy and healthy, the turquoise color is more saturated.
Today, due to its particular beauty, its use is broad in both jewelry and related crafts (goldworking and costume jewelry).
This necklace is a new piece of jewelry (however, to assess its condition yourself, please study the photographs carefully, they are part of the description).
