*Before entering our warehouse, cleaned at a laundry specializing in hand-knotted rugs, then not used since.
This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The method of knotting and the diversity in patterns make this rug unique and emphasize its authentic, artisanal character. It is an excellent used rug with an extremely long lifespan.
This is a lightly used, cleaned rug that can be laid down as is. A special & cherished rug, a very finely knotted top piece. Hand-knotted in Turkmenistan, by the Teke tribe(s). Comparable to the better-known Yomut, but even more exclusive. These Teke tribes did not knot rugs as often as the larger Yomut tribes. Thereby even rarer and full of stories, open to one’s own interpretation. Wonderful rug made of 100% wool, hand-knotted somewhere between 1930 and 1950 and still in a particularly good condition for its age.
Main color: Red
Accent colors: Cream and brown- and blue-toned hues
Details: Rich abrash (natural color variations); Lots of pile; Beautiful, clean and fresh; Gorgeous sheen; Depending on the viewing angle this rug has a lighter and a darker side; Rare object; Finely knotted; Large & impressive rug full of stories; 100% wool.
Signs of use: Minimal, barely visible signs of use, unavoidable for rugs of this age.
