Two identical mid-century modern ottomans in solid oak with brass foot caps and beige upholstery, dating from circa 1960–1965 in the Netherlands, in good used condition with light signs of age.
Description from the seller
Set of 2 Mid-Century Modern stools / ottomans – solid oak & brass details (ca. 1960-1965)
Rarely a beautiful set of 2 identical Mid-Century Modern stools / ottomans, made of solid oak with original brass foot caps and high-quality upholstery.
The stools are characterized by their elegant architectural form, lightly tapered legs, organic cutouts in the base, and a premium finish. The design closely aligns with the Dutch design tradition of the 1960s and strongly recalls the work of Fristho.
According to the previous owner, a former employee of Hilton Amsterdam, these stools come from the hotel interior.
As part of the provenance there is also an old interior photo showing multiple identical pieces as part of a larger installation. Official documentation is lacking, but the provenance supports the claimed hotel origin.
The combination of solid oak, brass details, exceptional build quality, and the fact that these stools were part of a larger series of nine identical pieces makes this a particularly attractive ensemble for collectors, architects, project designers, and lovers of Dutch design.
