Description from the seller
A unique, authentic bar tray in pure Art Deco style, dating from the 1930s and most likely produced in France, preserved in its original vintage condition and embodying the quintessence of modernist design of the Jazz Age and Cubism. The item captivates with an avant-garde, asymmetrical design, whose central feature is an intriguing geometric composition of dynamic parallel black lines crossing the space at an angle, and a characteristic circular detail, directly referencing Suprematist movements and the Bauhaus school. This striking, modernist decoration has been applied to a smooth glass panel in a rarely seen pastel shade of light mint green, which harmonizes seamlessly with the geometric inlays of natural, veneered wood in a deep, warm tone and a clearly delineated decorative grain. The entire tray structure, measuring 38.5 cm in length, 23.5 cm in width, and 3 cm in height, is fully integrated, with its sides formed by a solid, profiled solid wood frame that transitions into handy, geometrically truncated handles, while the underside is finished entirely with natural wood, confirming the craftsmanship of the interwar period. The piece bears authentic, natural signs of age in the form of wood patina and minor scratches, which add incredible character and guarantee originality, making this tray an excellent decorative element for upscale mid-century modern interiors and a unique object for discerning collectors of vintage artisanal craft.
