This ruby crystal (corundum) comes from Mauritania, (Tiris Zemmour region) about 100 km from the town of Zouerate.
I found this ruby during research and reconnaissance in the Mauritanian desert. I am offering it as I found it; I have not subjected it to any thermal or chemical treatment, just cleaned it with soapy water.
All photos were taken under natural daylight. For some of them I placed the ruby on the lit flashlight of my cellphone to show the strong fluorescence characteristic of corundums (ruby and sapphire) under ultraviolet light, and I also illuminated this ruby with a small lamp that emits ultraviolet light.
I photographed this gemstone as honestly and precisely as possible using daylight.
Please note that differences in screen settings and ambient lighting can lead to variations in perceived color, saturation, and tone.
The ruby you will receive is, of course, the one in the photos.
