"The Bikeriders" is a photobook by Danny Ryan, a photographer born in Brooklyn, New York.

Ryan studied history in college and in the 1960s, he photographed the Civil Rights Movement, publishing his own photobook, "The Movement." Since then, he has published works such as "Conversations with the Dead," a record of prisoners in Texas prisons, and has created many works focusing on anti-social aspects.

His work is renowned for its intimate depictions of outsiders from an insider's perspective, combined with expressive and poetic writing, creating dense documentary works that blend visuals and text. This book, published in 1968, is Ryan's first solo photobook and a social documentary depicting the daily lives of Chicago bikers.

Ryan himself became a member of the biker community, capturing the strong spirit of the riders and the deep love and friendship that resides within them.
