Clock - Brass - 1950-1960 - Gothic Cathedral

It is a clock that fully adopts the language of the Gothic Cathedral, transformed into a domestic and ceremonial object thanks to bronze worked with an almost architectural exuberance. The structure rises like a miniature sacred façade: ascending curves, pinnacles, volutes that recall tracery, and a central body that seems to hold the dial as if it were a luminous rose window.

The bronze, with its deep gold, shows a casting and chiseling craft that multiplies the planes of light: stylized leaves, volutes, reliefs that evoke the carved stone of medieval temples reinterpretated by the historicist taste of the 19th century. At the top, the sculptural finish —a draped urn, a sacred or allegorical motif— crowns the piece as a symbol of solemnity, reinforcing that almost liturgical presence that defines the whole.

The dial, with Roman numerals and an ornate surround, integrates as the heart of the clock, a calm point within the exuberant decoration.
