Andy Julia begins photographing at a very young age, within the School of Fine Arts where he discovers the photographic “magic.” His beginnings are marked by a very particular and intimate approach to the body and the female entity.

Having initially photographed only a single model, Andy Julia gives us, with force, images where the character is idealized, evanescent and liberating; akin to the image one might have of a perfect being or perfect love. For indeed, we are talking about love, like a door ajar, where a perpetual mystery resides, a search for oneself, an enigma of another.

Strange blend of desire and a femininely so narcissistic, this work is a wandering into the past, a pretext for ecstasy, a manifesto of contemplation. The photographer presents to us with delicacy and imagination moments where languor and longing are sisters, covered in skin, powder, silk and modesty.
