French Club Armchair – France, circa 1920–1940

Elegant French club armchair dating from the first half of the 20th century, approximately 1920–1940.

Featuring a solid wooden frame, traditional sprung seat construction with jute webbing, and hand-applied nailhead trim. The chair is upholstered in red leather and displays the characteristic low, comfortable seating position associated with classic French club furniture.

The rounded tub-shaped form, generous proportions and excellent seating comfort reflect the high level of craftsmanship typical of French club chairs from the Art Deco period.
