This is a regulator clock, also known as a 'regulator' due to its intended precision.

The clock has a round white dial with Roman numerals, housed in a dark-stained wooden case with decorative black turned elements and a glass door for the pendulum.

The gilded 'Regulator' inscription on the glass was a popular style choice for clocks from that era and gave the owner a sign of reliability.

Seikosha, the manufacturer of this regulator clock, was the original clockmaking division of the company that eventually grew into the world-renowned Seiko.

Dit is een slingerklok, ook wel een 'regulator' genoemd vanwege de beoogde precisie.

De klok heeft een ronde witte wijzerplaat met Romeinse cijfers, gehuisvest in een donker gebeitste houten kast met decoratieve zwarte gedraaide elementen en een glazen deurtje voor de slinger.

De in bladgoud aangebrachte 'Regulator'-opschrift op het glas was een populaire stijlkeuze voor klokken uit die tijd en gaf de eigenaar een teken van betrouwbaarheid.

Seikosha, de fabrikant van deze slingerklok was de oorspronkelijke klokkenmakersafdeling van het bedrijf dat uiteindelijk uitgroeide tot het wereldberoemde Seiko.
