In each of the two sets, the following coins are 925 pure sterling silver:
Commemorative dollar: 25.175 g;
2 bi-metal dollars: 8.83 g, with a 24-carat gold-plated core;
50 cents: 9.30 g;
25 cents: 5.90 g;
10 cents: 2.40 g;
5 cents: 5.35 g.
The duck dollar is nickel-plated on bronze and the 1-cent coin is bronze.
Total amount of silver
Each set contains approximately:
52.68 g of fine silver;
about 1.694 troy ounces of fine silver.
For the two sets together:
about 105.36 g of fine silver;
about 3.388 troy ounces of fine silver.
Condition and presentation
The coins are kept in their official transparent holders and appear to have a very attractive Proof finish.
The two original green cases are complete with their technical sheets. However, they show fairly noticeable signs of wear, including scuffing, case wear, minor losses, and edge and cover alterations.
These defects concern mainly the outer cases and are clearly visible in the photographs. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
An interesting set for collectors of Canadian coins, Proof sets, sterling silver coins, and series dedicated to maritime history and Canadian exploration.
Carefully packaged, protected, and tracked shipping.
