Description from the seller

Antique pendulum stand / clock foot of black marble with marquetry – 19th century

Description

Fine antique pendulum stand or clock foot, made of black marble and richly decorated with inlaid marquetry. The architectural design with stepped base, baluster-shaped column and graceful volutes gives the object an elegant and monumental appearance, characteristic of the second half of the 19th century.

The front is adorned with decorative inlay work of contrasting stone types in geometric motifs, which gives it a luxurious appearance. The round upper plateau is suitable for displaying a pendule, bust, sculpture or other decorative object.

A stylish and decorative antique object that works well both as a clock foot and as a standalone interior piece.
