Description from the seller
Belgium. 20 Francs. 1953. Baudouin I (1951-1993)
- Value: 20 Francs.
- Reign: Baudouin I (1951-1993).
- Year: 1953.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: BAUDOUIN KING OF THE BELGIANS. Reverse: 20 FR · BELGIQUE, with the Belgian heraldic lion and the national shield.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Silver 20 Francs coin minted in Belgium during the early years of Baudouin I's reign. The obverse features the portrait of the young monarch looking to the right, rendered in a modern and sober style that reflects the country’s institutional renewal after World War II. The reverse shows the Belgian rampant lion beside the national shield and the denomination, composing a balanced heraldic design with strong visual impact. The specimen retains an attractive original lustre with bright surfaces and well-defined relief, especially in the king’s facial features and in the elements of the shield. Light scattered contact marks typical of its grade MS63 are visible, not affecting its overall excellent presence. This issue belongs to a phase of economic recovery and political consolidation of Belgium, constituting one of the most representative silver coins of Baudouin I’s reign.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
