Antique Walnut Gaming Table with Folding Top and Green Felt – 19th Century
We are offering at auction this fascinating antique walnut gaming table, dating from the 19th century, a piece of great elegance and practicality that will add a touch of class to any setting.
Key features:
Pedestal Design: The table features a single, faceted pedestal base that rests on a cross-shaped base with stylized lion paw feet, ensuring stability and a solid design. This structure allows excellent freedom of movement for players.
Folding Top: The upper surface, originally a glossy walnut finish, can be easily flipped to reveal a second playing surface.
Green Felt Playing Surface: The gaming surface is clad in bright green felt, still vibrant, framed by a polished walnut edge with internal metal hinges (see detail in the collage image). This design makes it ideal for cards, chess, or other tabletop games.
Hidden Drawer/Compartment: Under the top surface there is an integrated sliding compartment/drawer, perfect for storing decks of cards, chips, or other gaming accessories.
