Libreria pensile a giorno in black lacquered metal uprights with two wooden veneer shelves, designed by Nisse Strinning and made in Italy in the 1950s, with Ferro metal and Tek wood, 80 cm wide, 20 cm deep and 77 cm high, originating from Torino, in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Modular wall-mounted bookshelf in the style of Nisse Strinning (String) – Italian Mid-Century Manufacture (Home Torino Style) - 1950s/60s
Fascinating and iconic open-wall shelf from the mid-century, clearly inspired by the famous and revolutionary String system designed by Nisse Strinning in 1949.
This specific piece reflects the splendid Italian declination of this minimalist concept, typical of refined artisanal and design productions of the era, ascribed to Home Torino. A piece that masterfully combines the geometric functionality of Scandinavian design with the warmth and elegance of Italian mid-century modern materials from the 1950s and '60s.
The structure consists of two side ladder-like uprights in black lacquered metal tubing, light to the eye but extremely stable, which support two wooden shelves with a beautiful warm and deep grain. Thanks to the interlocking system, the shelf maintains a clean, airy, and timeless line, perfect for highlighting designer ceramics, art books, or small collectible objects.
A versatile and visually impactful piece of furniture, ideal for enriching a modernist living room, a study, or an entryway with strong vintage character.
