Impressive and powerful Tchamba or Losso statuette from northern Togo. The figure has an undeniable presence, an ancient, primal strength radiating from it. It is a living, vibrant object. The alchemy between the invisible forces of spirits and the sculptor's creative hand has worked perfectly.

The figure seems anchored to the ground in a confident stance. He regards us with a hard, piercing gaze. Its taut body, leaning forward, heightens this sense of defiance and arrogance. He knows his strength and will not be intimidated. The sculpture is perfect, the treatment of volumes bold, dynamic and harmonious. The sculptor has put all his art into this work.
