Two-light Murano glass table lamp from Italy, dating to the second half of the 20th century, a unique piece in antique Neo-Imperial/Neo-Baroque style with amber Murano glass elements, a bronze-gilded base, and dimensions 80 cm wide by 48 cm high by 15 cm deep, in working order.
Description from the seller
No Reserve
Two-light table lamp crafted in a sumptuous eclectic style that merges the opulence of Empire style with the refinement of Murano glass.
The lamp features a complex, layered structure:
Base: The lower part is an elaborate metal pedestal, with scroll feet and foliate decorations, finished in gilded bronze and silver-patinated. Above this sits a marble base.
In the center, two tall slender shafts rise, ending in two large Murano glass flowers with six petals, highly detailed, also transparent with gilded centers.
To the sides of these central shafts are two sturdier blown-glass elements, in a dark amber color (amber or topaz), ending in stylized gilded glass finials, flame-like.
Arms and Lights: Two wide S-shaped amber blown-glass arms extend horizontally from the base and curve upward. At the end of each arm are mounted artistic glass diffusers in the shape of a goblet or stylized lily, with jagged edges in pink glass. The arms can be rotated forward, reducing to a maximum width.
Maximum width 80 cm. Height 48 cm.
This lamp comes from the stock of a famous Murano glassworks: it is probably an studio prototype that revisits earlier historical styles (Neo-Empire) or Neo-Baroque. As far as we know, it is a unique piece, never put into production.
Conditions:
The lamp is functional and equipped with a power cord and switch.
It will be shipped dismantled. Shipping only to European Union countries, islands excluded.
