Ancient door or attic lock from Mali, Bambara culture. A figure with a stern, hard expression surmounts this lock. The figure seems to be inhabited; it has an undeniable presence. The composition is well balanced. The sculptor here offers the best of his art. This sculpture has served for decades; the patina and wear of the wood attest to it. On a plinth. A beautiful old and authentic collectible piece. Circa 1950.

Ancienne serrure de porte ou de grenier Bambara du Mali. Un personnage à l'expression sévère et dur surmonte cette serrure. Le personnage semble habité, il a une présence indéniable. L'ensemble est bien composé. Le sculpteur nous livre ici le meilleur de son art. Cette sculpture a servi durant des décennies, la patine et l'usure du bois l'atteste. Sur socle. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1950.
