An elegant ceramic flower vase by the renowned Kyoto ceramic artist Kanzan Shinkai, one of the leading figures in postwar Kyoto ware. The vase features a slender baluster form with an organic silhouette, decorated with distinctive raised turquoise-blue spotted motifs set against a textured ivory-colored surface. The sculptural decoration and rich tactile texture are characteristic of Shinkai's innovative approach to modern Kyoto ceramics.

Born into a family of celebrated potters connected to the Seifu Yohei lineage, he studied under Kiyomizu Rokubei V and became one of the leading exhibitors at the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten). His achievements include the Minister of Education Award, the Japan Art Academy Prize, and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. His works are held in major museum collections and are admired for their harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design.
