Description from the seller

Important imperial-era coin cabinet, derived from the interior of a trunk belonging to an Imperial secretary, subsequently adapted with a custom-made wooden containment structure. A piece of great charm and notable workmanship, entirely crafted in solid walnut, including the internal structures and the drawer linings.

The piece consists of six drawers: a large drawer at the base, one large at the top, and four smaller side drawers, arranged symmetrically around an elegant central arched compartment. On the front are refined decorative pilasters that confer additional architectural balance and a typically Imperial taste.

All drawers retain the original varese paper lining, perfectly adhered and in excellent condition. All original period Empire escutcheons with gold sheet; the smaller drawers are fitted with lion head and ring handles, of particular decorative value.

The piece presents a splendid original patina and is in excellent overall condition; plausible restorations carried out over time, compatible with the period and the intended use of the artifact.

Dimensions:

- Length: 78 cm
- Height: 50 cm
- Depth: 32 cm
