Bronze Gallo-Roman votive statue, 50 BC–100 AD, height 81.6 mm, width 42.32 mm, weight 98.74 g, titled Stunning Votive Statue, in very good+ condition, acquired in 1985 from a private collection in Belgium.

Stunning Age Patina.
The Gallo-Roman period is a name commonly used, particularly in Belgium and France, for the Roman period in Gaul and Gallia Belgica. Gaul and Gallia Belgica covered the area roughly corresponding to modern France, Belgium, western Switzerland, and parts of the Netherlands and Germany.
Such figurines were used in the region at the time as offerings or protective objects.
The arms are spread and the hands are open, indicating a prayer or blessing posture (adorant).
The combination of this prayer posture with a prominent phallus occurs in this period and often served as a symbol of good luck at the time.
