Sofa - Walnut

Antique Restoration-style sofa, carved in solid walnut. This piece, dating from the mid-19th century (circa 1830–1840), is an excellent example of the period's cabinetmaking craftsmanship.

The sofa is distinguished by its elegant and imposing sleigh-frame, characterized by curved arms and finely carved details. The woodwork is particularly refined, with diamond motifs and floral scrolls adorning the arms and the front panel. The wood, solid walnut, displays a beautiful dark patina and a well-preserved surface, attesting its authenticity and the quality of the materials.

The structural condition of the furniture is very good, solid and stable. The original floral fabric upholstery, while showing signs of wear due to age, can be preserved to maintain the piece's authenticity, or can be easily replaced by an expert to suit a more modern taste.
