Signed; Conrad Godly - Of Course I Remember You! - 2001

Offered here is a new in seal **signed copy** of Conrad Godly’s striking photobook *Of Course I Remember You!*, published by Zyloc in 2001.

This uncommon artist’s book contains more than fifty photographs and takes a deliberately unconventional approach to artistic nude photography. Rather than presenting polished, classically composed images, Godly and the publisher created a raw and experimental visual object: photographs appear out of focus, scratched and reproduced with intentionally rough, “dirty” printing. These characteristics are part of the book’s original artistic concept and should not be mistaken for damage or deterioration. The hardcover publication measures approximately 23 × 22 cm and comprises 60 pages.

About the artist

Conrad Jon Godly was born in Davos, Switzerland, in 1962 and studied at the Basel School of Art, graduating in 1986. Between 1988 and 2004, he established an international career in editorial and advertising photography. He subsequently returned to painting and is now particularly known for his dramatic Alpine landscapes, created with broad, sculptural brushstrokes and heavily applied paint. His work moves between representation and abstraction, exploring the scale, atmosphere and sublime power of the natural world. Course I Remember You!* belongs to Godly’s earlier photographic period and was his second book project with the publisher. It offers a fascinating contrast with the monumental mountain paintings for which he later became widely recognized. Condition and collectability
