Description from the seller
Croatia. War, Special Forces "GROM"
Beret Badge of the Legendary Elite 2nd Guards Brigade "Grom"
of the Croatian Army (HV). The unit fought in the Croatian War of Independence (1991–1995) against Serbian forces and the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA).
About the Unit: "Gromy" is the Elite of the Elite (!) and one of Croatia's most renowned Guards Brigades. It was one of the first to be established in May 1991 to carry out the most challenging combat missions. The brigade's fighters stopped tanks on the approaches to Zagreb in 1991, relieved the siege of Dubrovnik in 1992, and in August 1995, during the decisive Operation Storm, they advanced along the main attack line and forced the surrender of an entire enemy army corps. Historical period: 100% combat original from the Balkan War era.
Hallmarks and rarity: An excellent example for military collectors. The counter-relief reverse bears the rare hallmark of the RPU workshop (Zagreb), and the screw cap is a genuine brass one from the renowned IKOM Zagreb factory.
Complete set: A complete, standard set—badge, blue plastic backing, and nut. Good collector's condition. The screw threads are intact, the geometry is perfect, the metal has a noble natural patina, and the black enamel on the "GROM" plaque is undamaged.
