AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A rare and impressive pair of antique German hunting figural candlesticks, dating from first half of the 20th century (circa 1895–1910).

Each candlestick depicts a standing hunter holding a traditional hunting horn (Parforcehorn), set on a finely modelled naturalistic base with woodland details. The hunting horn forms the elegant stem supporting the candle socket, a characteristic design associated with German hunting art (Jagdkunst) from the Historicism period.

The candlesticks are cast in heavy patinated bronze (or a high-quality copper alloy with bronze patina) and display excellent sculptural quality with finely detailed facial features, clothing and hunting attributes.

The underside is marked “BT.55”, most likely a foundry model number.

These candlesticks originate most probably from Germany (possibly Berlin or Bavaria) and were produced around 1895–1910.

A very decorative and collectible pair, suitable for both antique interiors and hunting memorabilia collections.

Condition

Very good antique condition with normal traces of age and use.
Original dark patina preserved.
