Description from the seller
Magnificent and exceptionally stylish Art Deco wall hat rack from the first half of the 20th century. This handsome design combines a dark-stained wooden back panel with an elegantly crafted brass frame. The geometric form, refined details, and high-quality materials make this rack a characteristic example of the Art Deco style, where functionality and decorative elegance come together in harmonious fashion.
The rack features a generous hat shelf consisting of three solid brass rods. Beneath it lies a sturdy square brass support rod with no fewer than ten double coat hooks, providing ample space for coats, hats, bags, and accessories. The double hooks are gracefully shaped and perfectly complement the luxurious look of the whole.
Over the years the brass has developed a beautiful, warm patina that emphasizes the authenticity and charm of the object. The wooden back panel provides a striking contrast to the brass and gives the rack a rich, classic appearance. Thanks to the combination of high-quality materials and solid construction, this is not only a decorative piece but also a highly functional piece of furniture that can be used for many years to come.
This rack fits perfectly in a hallway, entrance, or wardrobe and can be effortlessly combined with both classic and modern interiors. It also looks particularly good in interiors with Art Deco, Amsterdam School, Mid-Century, or Eclectic styles.
The hat rack is in good vintage condition for its age. Both the brass and the wood show normal signs of use and slight aging typical of an original object of this age. The brass has a beautiful natural patina that can be polished if desired, but is often valued by collectors in its current state. The construction is sturdy and the rack is fully functional.
