Censer - Copper

A Chinese brass bowl-form censer. The rounded body is finely decorated in repoussé and chased work with two sinuous dragons amongst scrolling clouds, pursuing a central flaming pearl. The dragons are rendered with detailed scales, expressive heads and flowing bodies, while the surrounding ground is filled with stylised cloud motifs.

Dating to the 19th century, Qing Dynasty.

Condition:
In very good overall condition, with minor age-related surface wear, oxidation and discolouration. There are some stains and deposits to the interior, consistent with age and possible use as an incense vessel. No major damage or repairs observed.
