Description from the seller
Antique French-origin jewelry box in silver-plated metal – approx. 1880-1910
Elegant French-origin tabletop jewelry box, made towards the end of the 19th century or early 20th century (ca. 1880-1910) in high-quality silver-plated metal.
The piece features refined relief decoration with vegetal and floral motifs inspired by Rococo, supported on four molded feet. Its characteristic pierced lid allows viewing the original red velvet lining inside, a detail highly representative of French decorative metalwork of the Belle Époque.
The quality of casting, ornamental richness, and meticulous execution make this box a magnificent object for both collection and classical decor. Originally intended to store jewelry, small personal items or mementos, it retains all the charm and elegance typical of French production from the late 19th century.
Condition: Good overall for its age, with superficial wear to the silvering, light signs of use, and patina inherent to the passage of time. The interior lining preserves its original velvet, showing wear and small deformations compatible with its age. Please review the photographs, which form part of the description.
