Terrano from Sicily, Italy, offers two 500 ml bottles of 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil with the PDO designation Olio Extravergine di Oliva.
Description from the seller
Lot consisting of two 500 ml ceramic jars representing the famous Moor Heads, of extra-virgin olive oil produced by Terrano, Sicily - Italy.
MOOR HEADS
Moor Head Bottle 500 ml
The project stems from the idea of creating a bottle that would embody the “Sicilianity” of an oil, to present to giftware, gourmet, and Sicilian specialties shops both in Italy and abroad.
The idea of reproducing one of Sicily’s most famous symbols is to provide a handicraft object united with one of the Sicilian oils, to leave the consumer a memory of this land and an object to keep even after the contents are finished.
The legend of the “Moor’s Head” dates back to the 11th century, when the Moors invaded Sicily and became part of the population, so much so that they blended perfectly with the Sicilian people. The story of this vase will be included on the bottle label, also to provide the consumer with all the details of the origin of this vase that is found throughout Sicily.
The bottle is made of glass from a designed mold, with on one side the drawing of a female face, on the other the drawing of a male face; it is produced in dark glass or white-painted glass, possibly decorated in some details (the mouth, the eyes, the necklace, etc.), to create several versions of the bottle for the retailer. The bottle design has been filed with the Chamber of Commerce of Catania to guarantee the originality of the container.
