Garnets are a group of nesosilicate minerals belonging to the garnet supergroup. The main species of garnets are six, grouped into two isomorphous series (compounds having the same general formula and the same crystal forms but with different chemical composition): pyralspite (pyrope, almandine, spessartine) and ugrandite (uvarovite, grossular, andradite).

I granati sono un gruppo di minerali nesosilicati appartenente al supergruppo del Granato.. Le specie principali dei granati sono sei, raggruppate in due serie isomorfe (composti aventi uguale formula generale e uguali forme cristalline ma con diversa composizione chimica): piralspite (piropo, almandino, spessartina) e ugrandite (uvarovite, grossularia, andradite).
