Solid silver fish sculpture in 0.915 silver, 16 x 14 x 13 cm, total weight 137 g with six removable serving swords (fish 108 g, swords 29 g), made in Spain in 1940–1950, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Magnificent solid sterling silver 925 fish figure, serving-knife rest / amuse-bouche holder, crafted with extraordinary artistic and decorative quality.
The piece represents an elegant tropical fish with stylized lines and dynamic movement, accompanied by six small original serving swords or skewers, integrated into the top of the figure.
This type of pieces were traditionally used as luxury table accessories to serve appetizers, seafood, olives, cheeses or small bites during gatherings and elegant dinners.
In addition to its practical function, these sculptures were considered genuine prestigious decorative objects within European goldsmithing of the 20th century.
The figure stands out for its excellent sculptural work: finely chiseled fins, body polished with engraved details and a highly refined marine composition. The six detachable swords retain their original design and complete the exclusive aesthetics of the set.
Similar articulated fish pieces and silver porta-pinchos have been marketed in major international antiques and luxury markets, including specialized platforms like FirstDibs and international auction houses, due to their rarity and high decorative value.
