Legendary Thorens TD 160 turntable, transformed through a series of carefully considered modifications into a high-end audiophile setup.
This classic, with its famous suspended subchassis, combines vintage musicality with modern mechanical and electronic precision.
The turntable is in excellent technical condition and the upgrades elevate the sound quality to a significantly higher level.
Specifications & Upgrades:
Base: Equipped with an extra thick and heavy plinth for maximum rigidity and resonance damping.
Isolation: The unit sits on solid audiophile spikes that effectively eliminate unwanted ambient vibrations.
Turntable mat: Equipped with a premium Tonar leather mat for perfect grip, antistatic action, and superior damping of micro-resonances in the vinyl.
Wiring (Audio): The original thin cables have been replaced with a high-quality shielded RCA cable with gold-plated connectors for interference-free signal transmission.
Wiring (Power): Fitted with a professional mains cable that ensures a stable, clean power supply and a whisper-quiet background.
Cartridge: There is a beautiful Goldring G820 cartridge mounted with a good original stylus.
