Description from the seller
Exceptional Spanish dresser set in 916‰ silver and cut crystal – 8 pieces – 1,664 g
Description
Magnificent and elegant Spanish dresser ensemble made in 916‰ sterling silver and cut crystal, composed of eight matching pieces.
The mounts feature Spanish contrast of 916/000 silver, visible in the photographs, corresponding to a fineness higher than standard sterling silver (925‰ was not the only fineness historically used in Spain).
The lot includes:
1 hand mirror with silver frame 360 g (27 x 15 cm)
2 dressing brushes with silver mounts: 187 g (25 x 9 cm) and 126 g (17 x 5 cm)
1 silver brush tray 129 g (26.5 x 8 cm)
1 comb mount 15 g (without the original comb) (16.5 cm)
1 perfume bottle in cut crystal with silver cap and mount 334 g (15 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm)
1 perfume bottle in cut crystal with silver cap 155 g (11.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm)
1 vanity jar or crystal container with cut crystal and silver lid 350 g (8 x 9 x 9 cm)
The containers feature attractive cut crystal with geometric, faceted decoration, while the silver elements display an elegant beaded border that brings uniformity to the set.
Condition
Overall good for its age.
Silver with an attractive shine and patina from use.
Surface marks visible on certain pieces.
Crystals in generally good condition.
The mirror retains its original glass and has some small scratches from use.
The structure of the comb is present, though the comb is missing.
The photographs form part of the description and allow detailed appreciation of the condition.
Weight
Total weight of the set: 1,664 grams
Era
Probably mid-20th century.
Notes
完整 Spanish 916‰ silver dresser sets are increasingly rare on the market, especially when most of their original elements and the matching cut crystal containers are preserved.
