Rare mechanical wall corkscrew – cast iron – ca. 1920-1930

Very fine mechanical wall-mounted corkscrew with rack-and-pinion mechanism.

This type was used in wine cellars, restaurants and cafes to effortlessly uncork wine bottles.

The corkscrew is made of heavy cast iron with a steel mechanism and original spiral.

The whole item is in nice used condition with an attractive antique patina. The mechanism operates smoothly and is complete.

Mounted on a wooden wall plank, making it very decorative as a collector's item or interior piece as well.
