Miniature box in 925 sterling silver with Mexican Pre-Columbian decoration – Taxco, 20th century
Elegant decorative box made of 925 sterling silver, richly ornamented with reliefs inspired by Mexican Pre-Columbian art.
The decoration depicts a ceremonial figure accompanied by geometric and symbolic motifs characteristic of ancient Mesoamerican cultures, inspired by Aztec and Mixtec art. The sides feature stepped friezes and stylized figures that evoke the architecture and codices of pre-Hispanic Mexico.
