Hexagonal tea casket made of wood and mother of pearl, in Victorian style, circa 1900, origin United Kingdom, dimensions 10 x 7 x 7.5 cm, weight 151 g, in excellent condition.

Rare Victorian mother-of-pearl tea caddy with original inner lid.
Hexagonal model - England 1850-1880
The box is entirely hand-covered on the outside with a geometric mosaic of cut, diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl panels. No panels missing.
in exceptionally complete and original condition.
Interior: solid wood with the four original corner supports and the original inner lid with knob. The lid was designed to seal the tea airtight.
Bottom: authentic felt lining with all four original ball feet.
Such a complete condition is very rare for 19th-century boxes.
The hinges operate smoothly. A beautiful collector's item.
