Openable Table / Console in Walnut and Walnut Burl in Baroque Revival Style, Late 19th Century

Elegant openable table/console in Barocchetto style, made in solid walnut and enriched with refined inlays of walnut burl, datable to the end of the 19th century. The shaped top, with a flowing, sinuous line, is enriched by a central inlaid medallion featuring stylized foliate motifs, executed with contrasting wood species that enhance the natural grain of the wood.

The structure features a molded subtop frieze with a carved central motif, which gives movement and lightness to the whole. The four cabriole legs, elegantly curved and ending in scrolls, fully recall the Baroque Revival taste, giving vigor and harmony to the composition.

The top opens as a book, transforming the compact console into a practical table, as visible in the images. The interior maintains the continuity of the woodwork, with burl veneer paneling that creates a striking decorative effect when opened.
