Description from the seller
Mantel clock “Caesar” – France, late 19th century
A majestic neoclassical-style mantel clock crafted in patinated bronze and black marble. The composition is dominated by a sculpture depicting Julius Caesar seated, wrapped in his toga, with a contemplative gaze cast toward a parchment scroll. Beside him, a helmet, shield and standard complete the scene, recalling Roman iconography.
The base houses a clock with a white enamel dial and Roman numerals, set in a gilded circular frame. The structure rests on a solid wooden base decorated with bas-relief motifs. Manual-wind mechanism with key included.
Dimensions: 61 × 80 × 35 cm
Provenance: France
Period: late 19th century
Code: AWE3422
Keys or accessories are not included, unless otherwise indicated in the photo and description.
In good overall condition, bearing the passage of time with signs of wear that, however, do not compromise the beauty, form and integrity of these unique pieces.
Please note that, being antique/vintage items, they may have minor damage, missing parts, or signs of their long journey through the years.
We believe these imperfections add authentic character and a special charm to each piece.
