This superb prestige object, the Buyu caryatid seat (Sikasingo / Bembe). A massive piece, the support is a carved head reflecting Buyu aesthetic canons: triangular face, crenellated beard, a face with two slopes and hair drawn back. This type of object naturally fulfilled a practical function, but it also allowed the public to witness the owner's dignity.
