Description from the seller

This piece features a beautiful specimen of boulder opal from Queensland, consisting of a rectangular ironstone fragment with cemented fractures that were filled with precious opal coatings, which are easily appreciated on this specimen as thin brightly colored pellicles with excellent multicolor pinfire that changes and sparkles when rotated in the hand. This material in a rough state is rarely ever seen, as most of it is processed into jewelry, as honestly it is economically more beneficial.
