Description from the seller

This is a Russian Orthodox icon of the “four-part” type or four registers, from the 19th century, in the Russian folk tradition.

It bears several highly revered figures:

Top left: The Theotokos of Kazan (Our Lady of Kazan), one of the most important icons in Russia.
Top right: Saint Nicholas, depicted blessing and holding the Gospel.
Bottom left: probably Saint George on a white horse, though the image is heavily darkened and may also be another fighting saint.
Bottom right: Saint Anastasia, venerated in Russia.

A wooden panel with a kovcheg (central hollow).
Dark background and a very rusted lacquer.
Old Cyrillic script.
Folk provincial painting style.
Cracks and natural wear in keeping with the real age.
