A fine Ban Chiang pottery vessel featuring an elegant ovoid body resting on a conical foot, with a short neck and wide flaring rim. The exterior is decorated with delicate linear motifs, characteristic of the refined ceramic tradition of the Ban Chiang culture. The vessel measures approximately 33 cm in height.

This example is accompanied by a thermoluminescence (TL) analysis carried out in 1994, confirming the ancient firing of the ceramic.

The Ban Chiang culture, centred in present-day northeastern Thailand, is one of Southeast Asia's most significant prehistoric civilizations. Flourishing from the Neolithic through the Bronze and Iron Ages, it is renowned for its sophisticated pottery, advanced metallurgy, and early agricultural communities. Ban Chiang ceramics are celebrated worldwide for their elegant forms and distinctive painted and incised decoration, reflecting a highly developed artistic tradition.
