Presented is a gorgeous and highly compact Tower-16 subminiature camera, an icon from the heyday of espionage and miniature photography in the 1950s. This mechanical precision camera was produced by the renowned Mamiya Camera Company in Japan and exclusively distributed by the American department store chain Sears, Roebuck & Co. under the brand name 'Tower'.The camera is designed for special 16mm film cassettes and produces negatives of 10x14 mm. The unit is equipped with a sharp Tower Mamiya 25mm f/3.5 lens with manual aperture settings (f/3.5 to f/11) and an adjustable shutter speed and film speed selector.This specific specimen is in very nice visual condition with minimal signs of wear, consistent with its age.A fantastic and sought-after collector's item for enthusiasts of micro-cameras and vintage Japanese mechanics.
