Description from the seller
Sterling silver bell 925 with Tree of Life – Mexico, 20th century
Elegant bell made of sterling silver 925, crafted in Mexico, with the maker's mark and 925 assay clearly visible.
The piece stands out for its extraordinary sculptural handle, conceived as a representation of the Tree of Life, one of the most important symbols of Mexican artistic tradition. The composition shows the paradisiacal tree with its lush foliage, flowers, and fruit, accompanied by the figures of Adam and Eve located on either side of the trunk, evoking the Biblical tale of the Garden of Eden. The entire ensemble is executed with delicate pierced work and excellent relief modeling, turning the handle into a miniature sculpture.
The bell body features rich engraving with floral and vegetal motifs, in harmony with the upper composition. It retains its original clapper and produces a clear and pleasant sound.
A piece of great interest for collectors of Mexican silverware, religious art, and high-quality artisanal decorative objects.
