Orthodox icon depicting Christ Pantocrator, painted in tempera on a wooden panel and covered with a stamped silvered metal oklad.
Christ is depicted blessing with his right hand and holding the opened Gospel.
The whole piece is preserved in its original glazed wooden kiot.
An old label on the reverse indicates a dating of 1851, consistent with the style of the icon and its oklad.
Beautiful patina of age and a sober presentation in an elegant rectangular kiot.
Condition: good overall with signs of wear, paint cracking, slight oxidation of the oklad, cracks in the wood
