Cimier called Sogonikun from the Koulikoro region in Mali.
This piece illustrates the vertical cimier style.
Here the stylized antelope has two horns decorated in a cross on the same plane.
The triangular ears are set back on the rear of the head; they are pierced.
The head and body are carved with geometric lines.
The wood shows a beautiful light and bright patina of age.
