Columbus Duo Illuminated Globe • 1930s

Our complete globe in a compact size dating from the first half to the mid-20th century from the Columbus Verlag Berlin Stuttgart. Through the DUO principle, the globe simultaneously depicts two map images – one when illuminated, the other when unlit. The Columbus Duos were among the most beautiful illuminated globes of the Art Deco era. The wooden stand with a chrome-plated hemisphere in which the globe reflects and the half-meridian ring made of aluminum with degree markings turn this educational viewing object into a decorative element in the study.

Unser kompletter Planet in überschaubarer Größe zur Zeit der ersten Hälfte bis Mitte des vorigen Jahrhunderts vom Columbus Verlag Berlin Stuttgart. Durch das DUO-Prinzip bildet der Globus zwei Kartenbilder gleichzeitig ab – eines im beleuchteten Zustand, das andere im unbeleuchteten. Die Columbus Duo waren mit die schönsten Leuchtgloben der Art Déco Zeit. Der Ständer aus Holz mit verchromter Halbkugel in der sich der Globus spiegelt und der Halb-Meridian-Ring aus Aluminium mit Grad-Einteilung machen aus dem lehrreichen Anschauungsobjekt ein dekoratives Element im Arbeitszimmer.
